December 27, 2008 - Adam Sandler Talks ‘Bedtime Stories’

By: Crissy with No Comments Filed Under: News & Articles

Adam Richard Sandler began doing stand-up comedy at the age of 17, landed a recurring role on “The Cosby Show” as a college freshman, broke out on “Saturday Night Live” a few years later and has since made nine movies that have each grossed $100 million or more. Onscreen he’s played a water boy, an unemployed hockey player and now a discontented handyman in this month’s “Bedtime Stories.” Because, as Hollywood’s A-list funnyman is quick to point out, he’ll never lose touch with his inner loser.

“I know I’ve had some success, and I have some cash in the bank and stuff,” Sandler shrugged recently, when we asked if all his success makes it harder to play the down-on-their-luck characters he’s made his trademark. “But it’s not like I don’t still walk down the street feeling like a loser. If I’m with my wife in the car, and I see some guy jogging by, I’m like, ‘Now, why does that guy look like that? And I look like this?’ I still have that going on.”

December 17, 2008 - Adam Sandler calls Charlotte a cutie at Premiere

By: Crissy with No Comments Filed Under: News & Articles

WHEN a Hollywood A-lister calls you a “real little cutie”, it’s bound to put a smile on your face.

That is why Charlotte Davidson was beaming when she met American actor Adam Sandler at a glitzy film premiere.

The pretty six-year-old, who is recovering from an operation to remove a brain tumour, couldn’t believe her luck when she was chosen to walk the red carpet at the star-studded launch of a new movie, Bedtime Stories.

In the film, Sandler, 42, enters a fantastical world where the stories he reads to his niece start becoming true.

Charlotte, of Chapman Road, Canvey, was one of several courageous children invited to the Disney-organised event after receiving radiotherapy treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

Her mum Lucy, 36, and older sister Rebecca, ten, were also invited to mingle with the stars at the Odeon cinema, in Kensington, London.

Lucy said: “It was a fantastic night. Charlotte got to talk to Adam Sandler and he called her a ‘real little cutie’.

“She also had her photo taken with him and he asked her about her treatment.”

December 13, 2008 - Adam Sandler’s ‘Bedtime Stories’ Became Family Affair

By: Crissy with No Comments Filed Under: Movies, News & Articles

Adam Sandler is back on the big screen Christmas Day with his family-friendly flick ‘Bedtime Stories,’ and he tells our own Mark Steines that making the movie was also a family affair!

“We were doing the medieval scenes and I asked the wardrobe department if they had something for the wife and kid to wear,” says Adam of wife Jackie and his little daughter Sadie. “They threw it on and jumped in the scene.”

As for whether or not his little girl had to audition for the part, he jokes, “She had three call backs and I said she can do this.”

“I’ll do anything to make the kid happy,” continues Adam, who admits that perhaps he could have doled out a little more discipline in the past two-and-a-half years. “I never like to say no to her.”

In the magical fantasy-adventure ‘Bedtime Stories,’ Adam plays a hotel handyman who agrees to babysit his niece and nephew for sister Courteney Cox — and soon realizes that the bedtime stories he tells them are starting to mysteriously come to life!

Despite some of his more sophomoric past onscreen antics, Adam assures Mark that this one is definitely kid-friendly: “It feels good that I’m not going to have one mother yell at me,” he laughs.

December 13, 2008 - Sandler: ‘Brand sorry for prank calls’

By: Crissy with No Comments Filed Under: News & Articles

Adam Sandler has offered his support to Russell Brand after the comedian’s prank call scandal earlier this year.

Brand resigned from his BBC Radio 2 show following phone calls he and Jonathan Ross made to Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs.

At last night’s London premiere of Disney’s Bedtime Stories, Sandler insisted that his co-star is “sorry” and “regretful” about the incident.

“He isn’t happy and he is regretful and looking forward to moving on,” said Sandler. “I didn’t hear the tape. I think a lot of comedians are trying to make people laugh all the time and sometimes you’re in a place where you hurt people.

“But he is a good man. He is sorry too. You’ve got to move on.”

Brand made his first public appearance in the UK since the scandal at the premiere but refused to speak to waiting reporters.

December 13, 2008 - Adam Sandler: this one’s for the kids

By: Crissy with No Comments Filed Under: Movies, News & Articles

Addressing thousands of cinema owners at a ShoWest convention in Las Vegas, Adam Sandler introduced himself: “My name is Adam Sandler. I’m not particularly talented. I’m not particularly good-looking. And yet I’m a multi-millionaire.”

He is unquestionably correct about the name, the looks and the financial state, and most critics wholeheartedly agree with him about his talent. Yet Adam Sandler is doing plenty of things right, because his films almost always make money and his demographic is golden: his fans range from ages 10 to 30, he has a surprisingly large female following and he is a cult figure on college campuses.

November 16, 2008 - Adam Sandler & Wife Have Baby No. 2

By: Crissy with No Comments Filed Under: Adam, News & Articles

Adam Sandler and his wife have welcomed their second child, the comedian announced Tuesday.

“Jackie and Adam had a beautiful baby girl, Sunny Madeline on November 2,” Sandler posted on his Web site. “Everyone is happy and healthy.”

Sandler, 42, and his wife, 34, have a daughter, Sadie, 2, who was born in May 2006. The couple have been married since 2003.

The funnyman made light of his wife’s second pregnancy during a May appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, joking about how he explained it to his daughter.

Quipped Sandler: “My little daughter is always looking at her and is nervous to see her mom sick like that. So I had I try to relax my daughter, just saying, ‘Mommy’s not like bad sick. She just has something growing in her that’s eventually gonna shoot out her vagina and take half your toys.’ ”

The comedian also said during the interview that he found his wife’s pregnancy extremely attractive. “It’s fun to sexually fantasize you’re with somebody else,” he said, teasing. “Like when she’s on top of me, I say, ‘Please tell me your name’s Big Bill.’ You know, stuff like that. And she goes with it.”
